New Community Defibrillator
In January 2026, The Wickets Inn in Wellington proudly received a community defibrillator, presented to landlords Lance and Debbie by Richard Bower of Water Search and Rescue.
This follows a six-year campaign led by Mary Jennings, former Ercall Wood Academy teacher, where staff, students, parents, and the local community collected over 400,000 milk bottle tops to fund the device.
Students enjoyed a hands-on demonstration and learned how the defibrillator works. Now available for community use, it’s a powerful reminder of how one idea, supported by many, can save lives.
